Q2CTF2: Stronghold Opposition
Equipment

Near own base
Get the armor, Hyperblaster. Jump down, get the rox and the power shield. Move to ramp area, grab the megahealth, bandolier, rockets by the ramp, rockets and cells by the door. Move out the door if you like and get more cells.
Near enemy base
Get super shotgun, the ammo pack, go thru the door that leads to the chaingun, grab the chaingun and armor. Now move towards enemy base, jump down, get rox and power shield, grab more bullets. Don't stop yet. Go around, get the bandolier and megahealth, rox by the ramp. If still not attackign get more cells and rox by the door.
Defense
If the enemy comes up the ramp, you can shower them with grenades. For fighting in the in close room, hyperblaster or chain gun is the best. If they come in through the high platform, both the RL and the GL will work. It's a matter of preference really, any weapon will work well but I'm partial to the GL until it gets close, then switching to the hyperblaster or chaingun
If they come through the lift, they tend to go straight for the flag - turn around, get close, hand them one in the face (denying them the health by the lift by stepping over there) and bombard the flag area.
Watch out for multiple attacks. They are much easier on this base.
Positions that work well:
- The top of the ramp. Best with grenades.
- By the machine gun on the high platform. RL, chaingun or hyperblaster.
- By the lift. RL.

Sniping
The sniping position here is accessed by the doorway on the high platform near the base. It is very good. Both the rocket launcer and the railgun can be used to good effect here. It should be manned by the third defender. You should also keep an eye on water area if possible to warn the base if enemy is incoming or jump down to engage if enemy is escaping.
Pursuit
First of all, one defender should definitely stay in base at all times, because the flag carrier may come back up the elevator to evade chase. If the enemy escapes, determine if they are going thru the water or elsewhere. If they go to the ramp, and get far enough, do not pursue. Instead go to the railgun area and jump down, cutting them off at the bridge. If they are going through the water, jump into the water and kick their butts. Do NOT pursue through the water area - it's really easy to kill a pursuer there.
Offense
Link Point: Near Quad
- Meet at the link point. BEWARE the enemy sniper, take em out with quad rox if you can.
- Attacker Esc gets the quad, gets ammo pack, and goes right to the chain gun area. Attacker FC goes through the left door, attempts at megahealth (NOTHING ELSE - no time), and goes up the ramp - a lot of cells on the way, so hyperblaster is a good weapon here.
- Attacker Esc should have eliminated at least one enemy by this time. Attacker FC makes it for the flag.
- Attacker FC either jumps down the ramp into the water area, or makes it to the railgun area and jumps down. Attacker Esc kills pursuers.
- Attacker Esc takes over the lead at the bridge, or before they enter the water and clears the way ahead. Route can be changed from land to water or vice versa here.
Now, if a third attacker sneaks through the water area, gets the RL (and power shield) and hangs around below the high ramp and goes through the lift as the other two attackers arrive, this attack is unstoppable. The attacker should signal ready when in position and attack as soon as he gets the Ready signal from Attacker Esc (who should be near the Machine gun by now). Do NOT wait for the third Ready signal from Attacker FC.
Escape
Escape is very easy through the water if the enemy is not smart enough to take the railgun route and cut you off there instead. Always kill your pursuers here and watch your back while exiting water if you suspect pursuit (if you don't, you are an easy target for anyone following). If you have a LOT of pursuit when you jumped down the ramp, take the elevator back to the flag room - the pursuit won't be able to follow, but you risk meeting another defender up there. If you go down the ramp, and spot the megahealth, get it, go around and try for the water exit. If two attackers are alive on escape and take the water exit, the escort should lead and clear the water area of a possible ambush. If there's an ambush in the water, by all means get out of the water ASAP!
Again a possible tactic is to change routes at the bridge if you take that route. Jump into the water or hook up to the rail area. The escort should proceed and secure the base when that happens, provided there are no enemies in close pursuit. Do NOT charge into a busy base on this level - the base room is too small to successfully survive in. Always check base condition.
Flag Carrier Hiding
- Railgun area
- On the ramp with runs to megahealth.
- Below the high platform, back to the lift
- Water area, next to the water entrance, with periodic runs to RL & power shield room to deny those to the enemy. A bit tight, but easy to defend.
